1:1 Clinical finishing v the Goalkeeper

Check out the clinical run and finish by Chelsea's Cole Palmer in this clip.

His vision to see the play steps ahead and execute at pace shows a player at the top of his game.

A 1st person view for coaching purposes.

I've seen the space in behind. Shout at Fofana and point to pass the ball to 27 Gusto. He does it. Gusto is about to receive the ball 40 yards out. He has no one on him and will be able to turn easy.

Time to make a run in behind. When Gusto turns, he might find me with a through pass. I'm 10 yards inside off the wing, 30 yards out from the goal. Ok spin and sprint forward; head for the gap between the two defenders.

Gusto hears my shout for the ball as he takes one touch with his left foot and instantly passes with his right foot, seeing my run. The pace on the pass is perfect & is cutting between the two defenders like a warm knife through butter.  I'll meet the ball inside the box at full sprint on the angle cutting in from the right.

The ball arrives just right in my stride. Push it forward with my left foot towards the goal and the edge of the 6-yard box with one touch of the laces. Brilliant touch! Look up; goalkeeper Pickford is positioned narrowing the angle. Open my body, look at the far corner and shape to bend it left side foot around him to that far corner, but instead, let's snap the ball hard to the near post.  Connect! Pickford's gone for the disguise, he's moved his balance to his right to block the far post. The ball shoots between the near post and his left foot, smacking into the net. Stamford Bridge erupts, A clinical finish!
