If you want to learn how to pass a ball into the net to score, here are two great examples from Liverpool and Germany's brilliant talent Wirz, both in the one game: Germany v Switzerland, a 4-3 classic.

Everyone's in the box for the corner. OK casually walk like I'm not interested past the edge corner of the box. No one is picking me up. A quick signal to Gnabry, who's taking the corner. He puts the ball down with his hand on the ball and passes it quickly towards me. I can see the defender on the bye line starting to run out to me, and a defender from the edge of the box centrally has seen the danger too.
Face my chest diagonally to the oncoming ball and the goal to help me see the box and to position to open out/turn with the ball with the inside of the right foot to execute a cross. A quick look up. I get a snapshot picture of the positions in the area and the goal. The Swiss defenders are all towards the near post area, as is the goalkeeper. There's a big hole behind them in the goal, the far post area, a window to hit. Decision made, going to bend it fast to that window.
Control the ball inside of the right foot and begin to turn with it towards the goal. No good, my touch is too solid. That's OK, give it an extra flick to the right with the outside of the right foot. Edge of the corner of the box. Perfect, it's set to bend. The two defenders are coming in fast, have to strike it now. Hit around the bottom right of the ball, with the inside of the big toe area, and wrap the leg up and around, like I'm clearing up and over a hurdle, left arm crossing over the ball and holding the balance.
Away the ball goes in a rush of pace and whipped side spin. Starting out away from the far post and now arcing in towards it as the keeper scrambles to get back across his goal-line. Too late for him, the ball sneaks over him and crashes into the underside of the bar and post, then hitting the back of the far corner netting. GOAL!
What a strike and piece of individual vision and skill, amazing! Check out his second goal also, this time from a central edge-of-the-box position. Again, he sees the window in the goal to target and passes the ball with accuracy and pace into that target. Brilliant!
